Family and Community Opportunities

RCA is seeking volunteers to assist the staff in providing a high-quality place-based educational experience for its students.  Families are expected to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per year; extended family members and friends can substitute for a family's commitment.  These hours will help us in reports to BSU and to report community and parent involvement in grant opportunities.  A volunteer log is located in the office but individual sheets for you to track time outside of school hours is also available.

RCA also wants community members to be aware we would gladly appreciate those who are looking for an opportunity to work with children in an educational environment.  If you are one of those people, we have a variety of opportunities to match your interests and skills.

Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
  • Sharing experiences to supplement Place-Based Curriculum
  • Teacher's Aide
  • Student Aide
  • Recess monitor
  • Lunch room monitor
  • Enrichment Aides (music, art, PE/health)
  • Student monitors & aides during field experiences
  • Office Assistant
  • Computer Aide
  • Career Day
  • Extra-curricular events
  • Eagles Club activities
  • Assistance in small jobs of building cleaning and maintenance; for instance, laundry, sweeping, and/or mopping in the health clinic.
Flexible hours - volunteer one hour or eight hours, one day a week or every day, or one day a month—the options are endless!

A limited criminal history background check is required to ensure the safety of all RCA students and staff.
